The cousin chart
Find the closest ancestor you share. In the row, what that ancestor is to you; in the column, what they are to the other person. Where they meet is how you’re related.

In-laws

- Your child’s in-lawsWhat do you call your child’s in-laws?There’s no single English word for your child’s in-laws, so most people say “my son’s in-laws” or “my daughter’s in-laws” instead.
Questions
How do you figure out how two people are related?
Find the closest ancestor you both share (a parent, a grandparent, a great-grandparent) and count the generations each of you climbs to reach them. Same number: you’re siblings or cousins. If one of you climbs just one, that person is the other’s aunt or uncle (or great-aunt, great-uncle). Any other difference makes you cousins “removed.”
What does “once removed” mean?
One generation apart. Your first cousin’s child is your first cousin once removed, and so is your mom’s or dad’s first cousin.
What about family by marriage?
Those are your in-laws: your spouse’s family, and the husbands and wives in your own family. Your cousin’s husband or wife is your cousin-in-law.
Does it save what I tap?
No. You don’t type any names and nothing is saved: it all happens on your own phone.
